Response to first ever Make it British event is way beyond expectations
I have been overwhelmed by the response that we have had to our event from UK fashion & textile manufacturers. With a few weeks still to go we have already completely sold out of all exhibition space and have a waiting list of manufacturers wishing to take a stand at the event.
When I first devised the idea of a trade show exclusively for British apparel and textile manufacturers I thought it would be a hard sell to get exhibitors signed up. I knew from previous research that the majority of UK clothing factories did not bother with trade shows, due to financial and/or time constraints, so it was always going to be a big risk to book a venue and hope that they would turn up.
But from the minute we started taking bookings in mid-March we had an overwhelming response from manufacturers wishing to take part, and within six weeks we had signed up over forty businesses. Many more representatives from factories and mills are also coming along to the conference to meet potential clients and network with buyers and designers that want to find UK manufacturers to work with. It just shows what a pent-up demand there is for such an event.
If you are a manufacturer or mill, or a business supporting the British textile industry, and are kicking yourself for not booking a space earlier, we still have ways that you can get involved.
