Meet the Manufacturer is introducing a series of motivational workshops to offer a practical insight into manufacturing in the UK . These free drop-in sessions will provide the perfect opportunity to explore all aspects of the industry with an inspiring line up of speakers who will be offering advice based on their real-life experiences.


2:30pm - Navigating the minefield of ethical audits

David Croft, Social Compliance Manager, Bureau Veritas

This workshop will uncover the most common issues found during factory ethical audits at garment sites in the UK to highlight the systems and processes which need to be in place to achieve social compliance. Plus, guidance on how to manage the multiple types of ethical audits requested by customers.

3:00pm - Finding the right leather for your business

In this seminar, Malcolm will talk about all of the different types of leather available and how to choose the best one for the products that you are making. An informative workshop on the business of exporting fashion and accessories made in the UK. It will look at the importance of authenticity and provenance for the ‘Made in UK’ label to overseas buyers and consumers. Plus, guidance on which markets are particularly interested in the ‘Made in UK’ story.
